MembershipResearch Association New Zealand is the professional body for the community of professional providers and users of research and insights. We welcome membership applications from any organisation or individual with an interest in research. New Zealand’s research industry is world class. Research Association New Zealand is committed to further developing the standard of research in New Zealand, both through internal standards and by promoting better understanding of the industry and its role.

Please also note that all membership cancellations must be sent in writing to the Research Association Secretary. Email is acceptable if receipt is acknowledged by the Secretary. Non payment of membership will result in membership cancellation. |
There are several different categories of Research Association membership:
Company Membership (levy will be dependent upon annual onshore turnover for the previous tax year; see table below)
These are outlined in more detail below:
You may be eligible for Company Membership if your business engages in research-related activities and business revenues are derived from research or services to the research industry.
All owners, managers and researcher employees will be granted RANZ membership as part of the levy payment i.e. no additional member levies will be required.
Your brand and specified owners, managers and employees will be listed in the Research Association database and website.
Company members undertake to abide by the Research Association Code of Practice and complaints can be brought against them if they personally fail to comply.

This is an individual membership for people who work for a client company, an advertising agency, a university or another organisation that doesn’t derive significant income from research. Group Corporate or Government membership is also available under this category.
Individual Members undertake to abide by the Research Association Code of Practice and complaints can be brought against them if they fail to comply.
This is awarded to fully paid-up members of the Research Association in exceptional circumstances. Life Members have all the rights, benefits and privileges of an Individual Member, and undertake to observe the Code of Practice.
A Fellow Member is a person recognised for that person's experience and high standing in the research and associated industries, elected as a Fellow Member by resolution of the Board following a recommendation from an entitled (fully paid-up current) member with the support of at least two existing Fellows. A Fellow Member shall have all the rights and privileges of a financial Individual Member and shall be subject to all the duties of an Individual Member.
In accordance with the Research Association New Zealand Constitution, all members are to complete an application form and supply information required by the Board. The Board shall have discretion whether or not to admit a membership applicant. Successful applicants are required to pay the annual subscription, or proportion of it, upon receipt of the invoice following notification of their successful application. |
