In the Customer Experience and Behaviour group, our aims are to create a shared understanding of our customers and translate our customer promise into tangible experiences and targets. We make data accessible and normalise its use in strategic, operational and tactical decision making. We use behaviour based design to support delivery excellence.

In this role, you have a unique opportunity to re-shape and lead the Research and Evaluation programme, in a highly influential role working across the wider transport sector. Your team will influence the direction of and deliver (directly and through academic and private sector partnerships) actionable research and evaluation findings for the transport sector, to maximise the economic and social benefits of the transport system and minimise harm.

Your mana, influence and connections across the research sector will result in real and positive outcomes for all New Zealanders. 

We are looking for an inspirational, results driven, innovative leader who is enthusiastic about the opportunity and challenge of reshaping our research and evaluation programme.

For you to be successful here and in this role you will bring:

  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience, including experience leading the direction, design and delivery of research and evaluation in a large, complex organisation
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills, with proven experience and comfort in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong research sector connections
  • Ability to translate strategic data concepts into priorities, plans and outcomes
  • Customer centricity, enthusiasm and passion for insight-led decision making.
